Dearest People of Slimness,

Last week I met a bipolar bisexual.

There’s a joke in there somewhere, I just haven’t figured it out yet.

Before I get into the Slim Shadiness, let me say “THANK YOU!” to all the folks who came out to 19 Sports in San Juan Capistrano for the Slim Show. Marc Antoine popped in with his beautiful wife, Rebeca, and his good-looking son Alejandro. Marc played a few Slim Songs on his guitar, and it was so nice! What a treat.

For him!

Let me remind you that this Thursday, March 26th, I have a Vino With Dino show at La Rue Wine Bar in Old Town La Quinta, Californee. It’s a cool little spot with nice wines, craft beers, small plates and a great crew. I’ll be doing a little Slim, a little Dino, and a little Frank. It’s a ton of fun. Lonesome Slim Rides Again!

And Now…All The New News From Slim’s Shady Trailer Park.

I’ve been engaged three times. But I’ve never been married. Why? I don’t know. One of the top complaints from the Slim Exes has been, to put it in their vernacular…”CAN’T YOU EVER BE SERIOUS!”

Which is usually followed by the throwing of cutlery. The slamming of doors. The screeching of tires.

Slim People. Your Fearless Leader has a hard time being serious. It’s a problem. But I do it for you, SlimNation. You see, I want to keep you happy. I want things to be light-hearted and…not serious.

So I have sacrificed my romantic relationships to keep you, My Beloved Slim Persons, amused and content.

It’s the least I can do!

The following story is true, but not serious.

Two days ago, I received a big box in the mail. I put my ear to the side of the box, to make sure I didn’t hear any ticking, and then I opened it up. Inside were about 150 CDs, a mix of the first three Slim Man CDs, which have been out-of-print for a long time.

Back in 1997-seriously–the nationwide distributor of Slim Man CDs went bankrupt. They owed us lots of money, and paid us nothing. They had the first three Slim Man CDs locked up in the bankruptcy. They sat there on the shelf for years and years, collecting dust.

I wrote about it in the cookbook, which is coming out soon:

But here’s the happy ending. Seriously. A couple weeks ago, I got a FaceBook message from a guy who used to work at that distributor. He had about 50 CDs each of End of the Rainbow, Closer to Paradise, and Secret Rendezvous. He sent them to me.

Even though they’ve been sitting on a shelf for almost 20 years, they are brand-new; the original masters, with the original artwork, in the original shrink wrap. The first three Slim Man CDs, finally available! Seriously. Joy to the World!

I put them up on the website. If you’d like to buy a copy, here’s the link:

I thought I’d let you Slim People know first, before I hand the CDs over to Selma Crapoff, our head of eBay sales here at Slim’s Shady Trailer Park.

BUT WAIT!!! THERE’S MORE!!!

Seriously…I’ve got some new concert dates, some pretty exciting stuff. I’m playing a song or two at the KSBR Bash in Mission Viejo, CA, on Sunday, May 24th.

I’m playing with Grace Potter and Boz Scaggs this summer at the Sioux Falls Jazz and Blues Festival in South Dakota.

And I’ve got more good stuff in the works-including an incredible house party in California in June. And let’s not forget about the cookbook! Stay tuned, SlimNation. Good stuff is coming.

Seriously.

Who loves ya?
